‘Sweetheart’ Styled Shoot and Open House

We loved sharing details of the venue in-the-making in our last blog post! If you haven’t read it yet, then what are you doing?! Click here to see what you’re missing :)

Anyway, today we want to continue on with the story of how The Cornealius Properties came to be.

In November of 2021 we hosted a lovely family meal on Thanksgiving day in the nearly-complete Carriage Hall! Then later in December, the space was finally finished and we hosted our family there for Christmas as well. It’s safe to say, our family will cherish that holiday season forever.

With the finishing touches on the Carriage Hall, we had BIG expectations for the new year and were getting so so excited about the weddings that were already booked for the 2022 season!!

In the midst of preparing to kick off wedding season in March, we began planning our second styled shoot and open house. This was going to be the first time our doors would be open after the completion of the Carriage Hall, and we couldn’t wait for everyone to see the new additions to the venue!

We were also excited to include the Birdsong Chapel, Honeymoon House, and The Camp this time around!

When we began planning for the styled shoot, our goal was to STAND OUT. There is a certain beauty in being traditional, but we really wanted to hone in on the unique experience that the Cornealius Properties and our preferred vendors have to offer.

With that in mind, we planned our second styled shoot to immitate the full setup of a real wedding, using a color palette inspired by Brooke’s dad as well as her late ‘Mema’.

‘Mema’ was one of Brooke’s biggest supporters in the early days of the flower farm. She would always drive up to the farm in her bright red, convertible ‘Punch Bug’ and sit with Brooke in the barn for hours after hours simply admiring her work.

Red and pink were her favorite colors, so although no one knew it at the time, Brooke dedicated this shoot to her ‘Mema’. We miss her incredibly, but know that she would be extremely proud of both the flower farm and the venue.

The shoot also just so happened to be in Febuary, fitting the color palette perfectly (ha!). Besides, Brooke is known for pairing “funky colors” (in her words) to make bouquets and arrangements that others wouldn’t traditionally pick!

It was also around this time that we were introduced to one of our favorite photographers, Coy Rigdon! He came out to shoot an engagement session at the venue, and we were in love from the moment he shared the images with us.

We knew then and there that we wanted him to be a part of our upcoming styled shoot. We’re so thankful to have connected back then!

It’s pretty safe to say that the weather was not in our favor the day of the shoot. Although not our first choice, the cold and rain made for quite the romantic feel. Plus Coy worked his magic, and the photos are still incredible!

The open house was set up to be a ‘vendor showcase’ so couples had a chance to meet and interact with lots of potential vendors. This turned out to be a big success. We love our vendor friends so much!

In the end, we LOVED how the styled shoot and open house turned out. It was our first major event with a completed venue, and to say we were ecstatic would be an understatement.

Since then, our 2022 wedding season has been BOOKED COMPLETELY!! We absolutely cannot believe it and are so thankful to host each and every one of our couples on their big day!
